Deep Blue blends the expanse of the ocean and the mystery of a dark night, evoking the feeling of timeless space

Cobalt pigment has been used throughout time in ceramics, fine China, jewelry and paint. More recently, in 1915, the dark blue of the night sky on a full moon inspired the name “midnight blue” for its unique color and soon became a popular men's suiting trend in the 1920’s.

Similarly, the classic color of the British Royal Navy uniform in the 18th century influenced not only other navies but a color name as well. It was introduced as “marine blue” but soon became the iconic “navy blue”.
